The Development Of Surgery

SurgeryIn percentages, the study reveals that 21% of total interventions, together with reference to men and women corresponds to rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), followed by a 19% hipomastias (breast prosthesis). The third in the ranking are occupied by liposuction, with 16%, while breast reductions are at 10%.

Although not in the top positions in the ranking of most operations carried out, there are four types of interventions that have grown faster. The most notable case is that of the Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), which increased sharply in the years 1997 to 1998 and since then maintains significant levels of demand in both men and women. The Report Of Surgery

SurgeryThe report of the development of interventions in the last ten years also details the most requested operations by sex. Of the total of over 12,000 interventions during the past 10 years, women account for 83.42 and 16.58 for men.

Rinoplasty  for women, hipomastia (breast prosthesis) ranks first with 24%, followed by rhinoplasty, with 22% of the total.

18% of the interventions have been liposuction operation that stands as one of the most consistent over the past 10 years.

The fourth place is held by the breast (breast reduction), which although is a mere 12%, is one intervention that has experienced faster growth.

Rinoplastia_03En For men, the difference between the types of transactions is more noticeable. Almost half of surgical interventions, 49%, corresponding to micrografts hair to prevent baldness. (more…)

Reconstructive surgery or plastic surgery, is derived from the Greek word “Plastikos” which means to shape, improve or restore. Reconstructive surgery will repair the function and the appearance of a particular body part. There are three main reasons why reconstructive surgery may be appropriate: medical reasons, due to a birth defect or deformities that may inhibit activities of daily living, traumatic injuries and accidents.
